Our Teachers

The vast majority of our teachers are teaching, or have taught, in a British secondary school very recently. They are familiar with the requirements of the National Curriculum for: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and English Literature. More importantly, they have years of experience in assessing and marking examination papers. All our teachers possess the Enhanced Disclosure from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau). Our teachers have a degree and a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in the subject in which they teach.

They are also vetted and are recognised by the Department for Education. It is our requirement that teachers undergo a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.

All teachers are currently teaching or have recently taught in secondary schools and each teacher has years of teaching experience as a successful Classroom Teacher and in some cases as an Examiner.

How we hire our teachers

We use the same method that all independent and state schools in this country and many international schools use to recruit teachers. Advertisements are placed in the Times Educational Supplements (TES).

Applicants are short-listed after we have obtained references, which usually includes the head-teacher of the school where the applicant currently teaches. Applicants undergo a rigorous interviewing process. We aim to get the best and most committed teachers, regardless of where they live. Almost half our teachers live outside London - they come from as far away as Bristol and Lancashire to teach our students.
