Improve Exam Grades

Boost Your Child's Confidence

You, as a parent, know your child's potential better than anyone. You know that, with a little help, your child can excel and achieve higher exam grades in the core academic subjects of Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This includes Double (Combined) and Triple Science.

Making this happen is what we are all about at Excel in Key Subjects. We are so sure we can help to improve your child's grades that we will fully refund* your tuition fees if your child does not attain the grades we predict! See our grade guarantee policy for more details.

Register your child now for our Saturday classes, or just call us and let's begin the conversation on how to turn the dream into reality.

Or, if you feel your child just needs an intensive last minute revision to firm up the basics to improve their exam grades - Register them now for our intensive GCSE revision courses during school holidays.

High-quality online teaching by the most competent of teachers

Since the beginning of the lockdown due to the pandemic, all our classes have moved online, using mainly Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The fact that lessons are now online is reflected in the lower fees that we now have, in comparison to in-premises teaching. In addition to the fact that our lessons are taught live, most lessons are recorded and students can revisit recorded lessons for future reinforcement of knowledge and revision.

Our purpose-We support aspirational parents and their teenagers to boost performance and fulfil their academic potential. We are all about helping to make dreams a reality and we are very proud of our record of achievement since 2004.

We have captured the essence of our lessons in real-time to show you how we work... The video below was shot in 2020-21 (during the pandemic), when we provided online lessons. We went back to mainly in-person in September 2021. Since then, the majority of our students attend in person at our centres; however, a minority prefers to remain online.

How do the Saturday classes work for GCSE students?

GCSE & IGCSE
Saturday School runs through the academic year - a total of 26 Saturdays from September to May.

Every Saturday, students in small groups of about five spend 40 to 50 minutes on each subject. In addition to the small group session, each student also receives 10 to 15 minutes of one-to-one tutorial on each subject every week. GCSE students who take all the five subjects spend roughly about 5 hours in total each Saturday. Some take just two or three subjects, spending less time studying on a Saturday.

Those who are taking Combined (Double) Science spend less time on the sciences, but Triple Science students spend longer. Both Double and Triple Science contain Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

For most GCSE students, classes start between 9 and 10am and most finish between 2.30 and 3.30pm. Some lessons are scheduled for the afternoon and those finish at about 6pm. It is just like a typical school timetable, with students studying one subject after the other, with a short break between each subject. The only exception is that students are in very small groups and they also receive one-to-one tutorial in addition.

Our grade guarantee applies to GCSE students who enrol for the full academic year (26 Saturdays). Please see terms and conditions for the grade guarantee.

In addition to the Saturday classes, Excel in Key Subjects also offers Intensive Revision courses during Christmas, Half Term, Easter and Summer holidays, as well as one-to-one tuition. All lessons are now taught by a live video call via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
